Happy May

Happy Mothers Day! Our Moms are like beautiful gems, so rocks of the month for May can be the beautiful things we make into jewelry. Whether we facet or cab them and then silver smith or wire wrap them, we our inspired by them as our loved ones have inspired us.

I think of beautiful faceted gems usually with inclusions that makes them interesting and unique just like people. I don’t always care for the gems that are clean and perfect because it is another way to tell that it is not fake. The faceted gems comes in endless patterns that resemble kaleidoscope views or flower like patterns and more. So lets celebrate and show off our favorite lapidary stylings and their creative settings as we think of all that inspire us.

✨A Very Big Congratulations! Goes to members 💎Gordon Hale and 💎Glen Woodward as “Member of the Year for 2021”. Their hard work and long term dedication as volunteers for club functions has well deserved this recognition.

Speaking of recognition 👏🏻 we also need to recognize all those wonderful volunteers who came out to work at the show and those that displayed and donated. 📣Yay, team! It was a very successful show and we hope every one who attended had a great time and found some wonderful treasures.

Time to kick back and enjoy the spring outdoors. Our next show will be in cooperation with 4 other area clubs and with NFMS (Northwest Federation of Mineralogical Societies) annual meeting, of which this club is a member of. In October this is a very big show.
